Alexandréa Lynbrook
As a child, Alexandrea Lynbrook’s imagination was a wild creature roaming free—until a sage fifth-grade teacher handed her a writing assignment that would change her life. Through her explorations of the works of classics like Thomas Hardy it would really inspire and challenge her. Bringing her into a world full of tangled human hearts that anchored her to the literary world, sparking a lifelong love affair with narratives that danced on the edge of darkness and desire.
Every writer’s tale begins with a spark, and mine was kindled by the discerning eye of a fifth-grade teacher, who saw beyond my distracted gazes out the classroom window. He urged me to capture the wild tapestry of stories that danced through my mind on my daily journey’s to school. Yet, it was the poetic gravity of Thomas Hardy that anchored my soul to the literary world, the magic of his stories lost me to the world of fiction novels very young. I did test my craft through many styles and genres until I found my home in the realm of mystery, suspense and a little romance thrown in—tales of fear, laughter, and relentless intrigue I love the most weather they are set in modern times, throwbacks to my past, where phones that sat on desks were a real thing or the world of sci fi or fantasy. I was born and raised in Canada and wandered down to the US while pursuing a career in the world of payments. Now I live in Charlotte, NC.
The conception of the ‘Write’ Series was as unexpected as finding a hidden magical door in a beige office wall. Amid the mechanical harsh world of an ATM company I worked at—far from the hushed corners of libraries—I dreamed up Rachel, a character whose spirit was too potent to be confined to the edges of my daydreams. Her leap to the pandemonium of the world of Fintech’s and money had me hooked, and I can’t wait to see her fall into the opportunities for trouble that could be found in the world of an Interior Design firm she took me in ways that I, her creator, never foresaw.
Now, I chase a very simple aspiration: to spot a traveler lost in the pages of my creations, their emotions a silent thanks when they find themselves immersed in the escapades sitting before them. My ambition is not just to tell stories, but to craft portals—escape hatches from the humdrum of daily life. For in those precious moments, as I glimpse a stranger with a furrowed brow or a suppressed giggle over a page I’ve spun, I’ll know I’ve shared the sanctuary that once upon a time, a young girl walking to school, found within the pages of a another amazing author’s crafted works.
